02-Gagana Behera (brother)
Ranjan has been living in a very worst social and economic condition from his birth. We got to know about this family by one of our friends Mr. Alok Prusty in 2018. Ranjan’s father has absconded the family 15 years back. So they are living at their grandmother’s (Mother’s mother) small house at Magarabandha, Nayagarah since then. Their grandfather (mother’s father) is also no more and the grandmother is also blind. Their house at Magarabandha is having only one room . They have been staying at that mud house without electricity connection form last 15 years. Their family is surviving by government provided rice( Ration card), monthly 1000 allowances and monthly 300 rupees salary earned by their mother by washing dishes at other houses. When we got to known about this family, after some month we had electrified their small house with the help of a youth with social mind set named Gyanaranjan Panda and also arranged a paid tuition for them at their village. We are also providing rupees 1000 per month for their daily grocery needs. But under this circumstances, Ranjan could not pass the 10th exam conducted in 2019. But we supported him and told him that we will be with him till he pass the exam. We had admitted him to a hostel of Pumia Sir in Sakeri, Nayagarh before 2 month of his exam in 2020, where he can be better prepared for the exam. Although he has secured less mark, but finally he was able to pass the exam in 2020. Although passing the 10th exam is a common matter, but for him and his family, this will bring a ray of new hope and ambition of a better social and economic life. Now Ranjan is studying Intermediate at Sharankul College, Nayagarah and his younger brother Gagan is studying in class IX. We are taking care of their educational needs too.
